Assure vs Ensure｜「人を安心させる」か「結果を確実にする」かを7秒で判断
assure と ensure は、どちらも「確かにする」と訳されることがあります。 TOEICでは、安心させる相手が人なのか、 確実にしたい結果・安全・品質なのかを見ます。
7秒ルール：
人に「大丈夫です」と伝える → assure ／ 結果が確実になるようにする → ensure
最初に「誰を」か「何を」を見る
顧客、社員、上司など、人に対して不安をなくす言葉を伝えます。

3秒で答えの方向を決める
- 空所の直後が人かを見る。you、customers、employees、the manager なら assure の方向です。
- 空所の直後が結果・品質・安全かを見る。safety、accuracy、quality、completion、delivery なら ensure の方向です。
- 迷ったら、reassure a person に近いか、make certain に近いかを確認します。
