Personal vs Personnel｜「個人に関する」か「会社の人員」かを7秒で判断
personal と personnel は見た目が似ていますが、見るポイントは一つです。 個人・私生活・本人のものなら personal。 会社や組織で働く人たちなら personnel です。
7秒ルール：
一人の個人・私的なこと → personal ／ 組織の従業員・人員 → personnel
最初に「一人」か「働く人たち」かを見る
本人の情報、意見、所有物、私生活など、個人に直接関係するものを表します。
会社、部署、施設などで働く従業員や人員を表します。staff や employees に近い方向です。
3秒で答えの方向を決める
- information、opinion、property、account、details が近ければ、「個人の〜」なので personal の方向です。
- staff、employees、workers、security team、department の意味なら personnel の方向です。
- 迷ったら、private / individual に置き換えられるか、employees に置き換えられるかを確認します。
