Switch strategies quickly

There is no single trick for every Part 2 item. Use the signal you hear to decide which listening strategy matters most.

Strong listeners adapt instead of forcing every question into the same pattern.

Pressure makes old habits return

Under time pressure, learners often return to weak habits: chasing matching words, waiting for Yes or No, or stopping when one sound is missed.

Mixed practice is where you train the strategies to work automatically.

焦ると古い癖に戻りやすい

時間に追われると、同じ単語を探す、 Yes / No を待つ、一語聞き逃して止まる、などの癖が出やすくなります。

Mixed練習では、正しい聞き方を自動的に使えるようにします。

WORD MATCHING Same word does not mean same meaning. 同じ単語でも意味が合うとは限らない。

ANSWERING TOO EARLY Hear the whole prompt before deciding. 最後まで聞いてから判断する。

MISSING ONE WORD Keep listening. Don't freeze. 一語逃しても聞き続ける。

LITERAL THINKING Ask what the speaker really means. 本当に伝えたい意味を考える。

Stay flexible. The challenge changes from question to question. 柔軟に対応しよう。問題ごとに必要な聞き方は変わります。

Identify → Focus → Respond

Recognise the challenge. Focus on the most useful cue. Then choose the response that makes sense.

The goal is not twelve separate tricks. It is one flexible listening system.
